Community

The Bristol Chorale participates in local concerts and festivals. Most recently, we were guest performers at the Bristol Brass and Wind Ensemble’s free community concert honoring veterans of all branches of the U.S. military services.

We frequently perform the National Anthem at the Bristol Blues and New Britain Bees baseball games. In 2022, we led the caroling for the tree lighting ceremony at Page Park that was designed to show support for the Bristol Police Department in the wake of the tragic loss of two of its members.

For the past few years, we have been invited to sing at the opening of the annual Chrysanthemum Festival. Chorale members also sing carols to residents of local assisted-living facilities and convalescent homes.

In other community efforts, Brian’s Angels Outreach Center was a recent beneficiary of our members’ generosity, with the donation of all unsold homemade treats following a very successful bake sale. From our group donations at a preholiday rehearsal, the Chorale was able to deliver a carful of toys to the local United Way.

Potential members of the Bristol Chorale are introduced to the group through our concerts and social media posts. We encourage high school students who are remaining in the area after graduation to sing with us by offering them complimentary tickets to our concerts. We also offer a $1,000 scholarship to an eligible student who intends to pursue music in college.

Our members support the arts. Our members support each other. Many of us have made lasting friendships through a passion for choral music, our great, common joy.
